Since joining K&S Diagnostics in November 2012, Dr. Awad has focused on establishing the company, based on its compelling vision of "Empowering better health with diagnostic insights." Under his leadership, the K&S Diagnostics has become the fastest growing privately owned diagnostics lab in southeast by expanding its presence in Flordia, South & North Carolina and its services to include a full LC/MS Toxicology lab and Real - Time PCR Molecular lab. Prior to joining k&S Diagnostics, Dr. Awad was professor of Biochemistry at Xavier University School of Medicine.

Certified Public Accountant with more than 15 years of public and private experience gained in the US and overseas with substantial strategic, financial, and management experience. More than 10 years in the pharmaceuticals industry with global corporations.

Accomplishments:

Played major part in the merger between Merck & Co, Inc. and Schering-Plough Corp. ($50 billion reverse merger) as a finance lead.

Successfully established operation/foot print for Merck pharmaceuticals business in Dubai and Saudi Arabia and lead the knowledge transition to the local teams.

Successfully managed all local issues (IT, HR, resources...etc.) for local businesses in the EMEA region and communicated to Corporate headquarter.

Lead the negotiation with potential buyers and investment bankers to divest a $10 billion business segment (Schering-Plough’s Animal Health Segment).

Successfully completed an Initial Public Offering (IPO) for Reliant Pharmaceuticals, which was subsequently acquired by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) for $1.65 billion.
